Who can drive which section
During restricted hours, barriers at PK 2 (towards the beach) and PK 8.7 (towards the lighthouse) let only authorised vehicles through.

Why is the road to Formentor closed?
It is not closed, it is restricted. In 2026, from 15 May to 18 Oct and between 10:00 and 22:00, the DGT limits the Ma-2210 to authorised vehicles. Barriers let only those through, and bicycles are authorised on both sections.
Can I cycle to the Formentor lighthouse?
Yes. Bicycles are on the DGT's list of authorised vehicles for both sections of the Ma-2210: to Formentor beach (PK 2–8.7) and to the lighthouse (PK 8.7–19.6).
How do I get a permit to drive to the lighthouse?
Resident owners on the restricted stretch, holders of the V-15 reduced-mobility badge and others authorised by the DGT email [email protected] at least three business days ahead. Private cars without authorisation can only drive to the car park at PK 8 until it is full.
