Picking one near your route or town

There is no distance calculation on this page. The server does not know where you are and it does not guess, so nothing here is sorted by how close it is to you until you say so. Instead you filter: choose the town your loop passes through and the list gives you the mapped locations there, with an address and a map position, and it works with JavaScript switched off. Share your position with the browser and the map adds a proximity sort on top — an enhancement, not a requirement.

The practical version for a ride: put the stop somewhere you were riding through anyway. The towns index opens every town profile, and the route index shows which villages sit on a given loop. If you need bottles as well as a stop, pair it with a water refill point or a café in the same place.

What a listing does and does not tell you

Four fields turn up regularly in the OSM data but by no means on every location: whether the toilet is open to the public, whether it is reachable for someone with limited mobility, whether there is a fee, and any recorded hours. Each of those appears only when the record contains it. When it is blank, nothing is shown — and blank does not mean free or unlocked. It means nobody has recorded it.

That is also why this page never tells you whether a toilet is open right now. There is no dependable island-wide source for municipal facility hours, and a guessed status is worse than none when you are 40 km from your hotel. Plan every stop with a second option behind it.

What “last verified” means

The locations come from OpenStreetMap and are maintained by volunteers. The date under this answer is when we last pulled that data, not when somebody stood in front of the door. A record can be years old, a facility can have been rebuilt, moved or closed for good since it was mapped, and a brand-new block can be missing simply because nobody has added it yet. Treat the list as a strong starting point rather than a promise.

Alternatives and etiquette

When nothing mapped is close, the ordinary options apply. Cafés and bars keep their toilet for customers, so buy the coffee first and the question answers itself. Larger beaches and the marinas usually have facilities, as do many town halls, market halls and petrol stations. Go in, get out, and remember cleats are slippery on tiles. Relieving yourself in public is a fineable offence in several Mallorcan municipalities.

Common questions

Where is the nearest public toilet?

This page cannot answer that without guessing, because distance is not calculated server-side. Filter to the town you are in or riding through and you get the locations mapped there with an address and a map position. Only once you share your position with the browser does the map add a proximity sort.

How reliable are the opening hours and access notes?

Exactly as reliable as the underlying OSM field. Plenty of records carry no hours at all and we do not invent any. If a listing shows nothing, the status is unknown, so carry a fallback — a second location or a café — in your plan.

Are there accessible toilets?

Some records carry a wheelchair or step-free tag, and where they do we show it. A missing tag does not mean the facility is inaccessible, only that nobody recorded it. If access is something you have to rely on, check with the town hall or ask at the nearest café before you commit.

What should I do if a listing turns out to be wrong?

Move to the next option in the same list, then fix the record in OpenStreetMap — the correction flows back into this map on the next data pull. That is also the quickest way to get a newly built facility onto it.

Why do some towns have no toilets mapped at all?

Because nobody has mapped them there, not because none exist. Small villages in Es Pla and the Tramuntana are covered far more thinly in OSM than Palma or the coastal resorts. In those places the bar on the square is the realistic answer.
