Spanish law requires you to signal every turn, lane change and stop with your arm extended, with enough time for following traffic to react. Standard signals: left arm extended for left turn, right arm extended for right turn (or left arm bent up), left arm bent down for stop. In group riding, point at holes and hazards verbally and with the hand. Mallorca-specific tip: signal extra-clearly at the many small unsignposted T-junctions on inland inland connector roads.

Group riding: ride two abreast, no more
Two abreast is allowed on the hard shoulder, as far right as the road lets you; three abreast is not. Single file where visibility is poor. From 1 October 2026 a pair may use the carriageway where no usable shoulder exists.
1.5-metre overtaking rule and motorist obligations
A driver overtaking you must leave at least 1.5 m of lateral space. From 1 October 2026 they must also drop to at least 20 km/h below the limit on interurban roads and change lane completely where their direction has more than one.
