From sunset to sunrise, in tunnels, or whenever visibility is poor (rain, fog), cyclists must run a white front light and a red rear light. On interurban roads, whenever lights are mandatory, you must also wear a reflective garment visible at 150 metres (art. 98). Sa Calobra, Cap Formentor, and most Tramuntana descents include tunnels where lights are mandatory even during the day.

Helmet requirements for cyclists in Mallorca
On interurban roads a helmet is compulsory. Three narrow exemptions — long climbs, extreme heat, accredited medical reasons — still apply until 30 September 2026 and disappear on 1 October 2026. In town, only riders under 16.
