Safety guide for riding Cap de Formentor

Cap de Formentor is a popular, high-traffic road with a long dead end, and the safety picture depends on the season. Between 15 May and 15 October 2026, private cars and motorbikes are restricted on the Ma-2210 from 10:00 to 22:00 while bikes are exempt, so riders have the road almost to themselves. Outside that window, start before 09:00 to avoid coaches. The 18.5 km out-and-back rolls at an average 3.5% with a 9% maximum, narrow in places and with sea-facing bends. There is no water past the Hotel Formentor, so carry enough for the return.
