When you are already inside a Spanish roundabout (rotonda / glorieta), you have right of way over any vehicle waiting to enter. Cyclists are explicitly named in the traffic code here. The safer ride is in the right third of the outer lane — far enough out to be seen, close enough to exit without crossing other cars. Watch for tourist hire cars on the Palma → Andratx ring road, which routinely misjudge cyclist speed at roundabouts.

1.5-metre overtaking rule and motorist obligations
A driver overtaking you must leave at least 1.5 m of lateral space. From 1 October 2026 they must also drop to at least 20 km/h below the limit on interurban roads and change lane completely where their direction has more than one.
